The Verdi cinemas were the last to enter orignal language territory, but they have earned a place of honour in Madrid thanks to a vibrant mix of arthouse, foreign, Spanish, independent and commercial films. They also organize a number of festivals, exhibitions (you can present your own project), events, and classic children's films in their Verdi Kids section. There's also one of the few cinemas with matinee shows.
