El Sótano

Exposed brick, neon lights, industrial design and a staircase, the nexus of union between two worlds: reality and El Sótano. In the La Latina neighbourhood, El Sótano is a singular space where you'll find hipsters, culture junkies, indie fans, music lovers, those passing through, new Madrid inhabitants, locals born and bred right next door... anyone is welcome and anything could happen. When you head downstairs you find live music, stage performances, on-air radio and all kinds of counter-culture demonstrations.

There's an 'anything is possible' attitude is reminiscent of low-lit basements where all the best stuff happens. And in El Sótano ('sótano' is Spanish for 'basement') you'll find bands that are local favourites on the current scene, playing music that runs the gamut of indie, pop, alternative rock, shoegaze, garage, punk and electronica. And it's a great place to hang out while the best DJs liven up the night until the wee hours with good vibes and good music.
