Other than Tete Montoliú, no Spanish pianist has managed to make his jazz wisdom as exportable as Chano Domínguez. Chano is inspiring as far as some styles of playing the piano are concerned; he works clean, comes up with ideas and creates splendor. There's synergy now with the adventurous spirit of Niño Josele, the best guitarist around after Paco de Lucía, and thanks to him.
With Niño Josele you get the feeling that flamenco is expanding. Part of a long line of 'tocaores', this musician from Almería made his way eight years ago into the music of pianist Bill Evans on the album 'Páz', and since then, his desire for adventure hasn't wavered. Both performers now come together to present songs from the album 'Chano & Josele', produced by Fernando Trueba.
