Experience doesn’t exactly count for a degree, but it is a mirror which reflects a whole lifetime. If there's one thing Jorge Pardo has, it's a long professional career. Along the uninterrupted string of happy moments in the musical life of this flautist and saxophone player, it's not difficult to highlight his early days in the group Dolores, his role in the iconic recording of Camarón’s album 'La Leyenda del Tiempo', or his joining Paco de Lucía’s ensemble.
In this concert, Josemi Carmona fronts the rhythm section with his fiery spirit, with Pablo Báez and Bandolero completing it on double bass and percussion, respectively. Between them, they not only reassert the flamenco-jazz sound, but, accompanied by Portuguese accordionist João Frade, they infuse it with a sprinkling of knowing references to Portugal’s popular music.
