A veteran on the European electronic scene that so many of the most disparate artists pay tribute to, German producer Detlef Weinrich, aka Tolouse Low Trax, is behind the famous Düsseldorf club Salon des Amateurs. He's still an active member of the prestigious group Kreidler (who have just published a new album), and, with his background in the '80s and '90s, the primitive sounds of his music is linked to something simple but is not necessarily minimal. His is hypnotic music that combines a tradition of krautrock with tribal influences and African music.
