One of the most successful examples in the city of what is known as an ‘enlightened tavern’. It has a bar overflowing with tapas and a large selection of wines served by the glass. In the back there's a small dining room where you can sample more elaborate dishes, which, while not overly sophisticated, are tastefully reminiscent of home cooking.

This was to date the favourite find of our many trips to Spain. It is a world class bistro with excellent, unfussed service and tasty wholesome Spanish food. The buratta was as good as any Michelin starred restaurant and the dishes that followed did not disappoint. The soft centered fried egg on potato chips was excellent and made even better with the addition of black truffle. The tripe casserole was excellent as was the hake and meatballs. The chicken burger was the best I have tasted. The wine list is excellent with a very good choice of wines by the glass. One of the best lunches in Madrid.
Definitely a must return job with great service headed by a Captain Nemo looking character that is apparently the owner.
