Microteatro Por Dinero
Time Out says
The creators of this room, an old brothel in an area that is now well known for its hipsters, were also the promoters of the concept of ‘micro theatre’ in Spain. In fact, they’ve spread their company name across Spain and now there is Microteatro Por Dinero in Málaga, Cáceres, Valencia… They are probably known as being the best of utilizing this form of theatre — in other words, they’re doing well. “We know that we’ve created a trend,” Verónica Larios from Microteatro por Dinero explained to us. “We even get spectators from outside of Madrid to come and see us.” Its format consists of a space of 15 square metres where they perform 15-minute pieces with 15 spectators. Everything’s small, intimate and fast. Hence also the logo of the room, that is organized in thematic cycles: money, jealousy, food, love, documents, and future…
“In our room spectators can find an alternative for leisure and culture at an affordable price, because in addition to seeing a performance, you can also have a drink, chat…” All this to say that plans here are brief, but complete. And one of the most attractive characteristics of this organization is that it functions as a theatre à la carte: you can choose whatever scene you want to see, so if you arrive with a group of friends or your companion, you can count on the company’s extensive options, and there are a variety of rooms that are sure to appeal.
