Teatro Pradillo is one of the city's alternative theatre venues that has received most recognition for its theatrical research and innovation. One of its strong points is its programme of children's theatre (its puppet shows are particularly good) and dance performances. It takes part in a number of festivals (it was one of the main organizers of the sadly defunct Escena Contemporánea) focussing on theatre, dance and even flamenco, and many productions here are staged in their original language.
