The Coral Gables Miracle Mile renovation is in the home stretch—a relief for locals who will simply lose their shit if they have to see one more orange safety cone. The project, which has been under construction for over a year, is expected to finish by January.

But some parts of the renovation are already complete. For example, the new Giralda Plaza (at Giralda Avenue and Ponce De Leon Blvd), a section of Giralda Avenue just a couple blocks north of Miracle Mile that will serve as one of the focal points of the entire renovation. The promenade has been converted into a pedestrian paradise, with outdoor dining options, shopping and plenty of space for public events—like the free concert happening this Friday in celebration of Giralda Plaza’s grand opening.

Local favorites Spam Allstars, Patrick & The Swayzees (one of our favorite Miami bands) and Jacob Jeffries will all be providing the music. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests are invited to chill out under the outdoor lights or grab a bite at one of the 15 Giralda restaurants that will be open for service.

The event is free, but for a guaranteed spot you can RSVP via eventbrite.com.
