If you’ve been putting off that visit to Daniel Boulud’s db Bistro Moderne, you better act soon: the French bistro in downtown is serving its last dinner service at the end of this month.

Though before you go lamenting the demise of another Miami institution, db Bistro is shutting its doors to make room for another Boulud concept. Opening this December will be Boulud Sud, the chef’s Mediterranean concept, which first opened in 2011 in New York’s Upper West Side. Instead of contemporary French fare, the new restaurant’s menu focuses on cuisine inspired by Spain, Italy and Greece. Db’s executive chef Clark Bowen will stay on and he and chef Boulud plan to collaborate on the new Mediterranean menu.

The space is also getting a modern revamp, with updated dim lighting, Moroccan-style flooring and an added lounge—perfect for those Friday happy hours in downtown.
