Five new happy hours to try this week in Miami

Don’t be that person who fantasizes about Friday happy hour the moment they get to work on Monday morning. Instead of wishing the workweek away, and squandering what’s left of summer, make plans to unwind every day at these give new happy hour deals, available from Coconut Grove to South Beach.   

Sangria Tuesdays at Spasso

Take the party outside to Spasso’s terrace for a Latin-themed fiesta with extra-large glasses of sangria ($12), beer-pairing specials and salsa music from DJ Adora. Arrive before 8pm to take advantage of $5 Neapolitan-style pizzettas. Tue 7–10pm. 3540 Main Hwy.

#TBT happy hour at Area 31

Here is one instance when being the first person at the party really pays off. Head to Area 31’s rooftop happy hour for beat-the-clock specials on Taittinger Champagne (bottles are $50 at 5pm, $60 at 6pm and so on until 11pm), plus discounts on ’90s-themed cocktails (think Sex on the Beach and Cosmos) and $7 appetizers. Thu 5–11pm. 270 Biscayne Blvd Way.

Dom Fridays at Caviar Russe

Toast to a job well done with specially priced flutes ($25) and bottles ($100) of Dom Pérignon at the Four Season’s flashy caviar den and cocktail bar. The Friday happy hour also features small plates by Alaine Ducasse-trained chef David Valencia. Friday 4–7pm. 1441 Brickell Ave.

Kanpai Hour at Katsuya

Make your way upstairs to Katsuya’s Dragon Lounge for $8 drinks and a selection of discounted appetizers, including Katsuya’s most popular menu items and maki rolls. For less than $20, you can dig into an order of creamy rock shrimp and sip a signature FreshKetel vodka cocktail. Daily 7–9pm. 1701 Collins Ave.

Social Hour at Cleo

When you’ve skipped lunch but refuse to cancel happy hour plans, head to Cleo’s new weekday social hour. The menu is full of cheap appetizer options ($5–$7) that go beyond typical bar fare, including skirt steak skewers, roasted cauliflower and fresh-baked bread with assorted dips. Craft cocktails are $7 a pop. Mon–Fri 5–8pm. 1776 Collins Ave.
