Coyo Taco has never really been satisfied doing one thing well. Though the Wynwood restaurant quickly earned lines out the door thanks to its delicious and fresh Mexican fare, it wasn’t satisfied stopping there. Coyo also invested heavily in its intimate speakeasy nightclub, located in the back of the restaurant, and quickly gained a reputation as a dance music haven thanks to residencies from Oscar G and Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire.

Now, yet again, the Coyo Taco team is branching out with a new boutique record store that will sell vinyl in Wynwood. The shop will be called Lucky Records and, though details are still being hammered out, the store says it will sell classic records, new releases and, according to its release, help promote “the renaissance of growth and activity in Miami’s music landscape.” It’s currently aiming for a fall opening.

Coyo’s Alan Drummond and Sven Vogtland, who were largely responsible for the music/nightlife success of Coyo, will be running Lucky Records. Tony Garcia, better known as DJ YNOT, and Nature Sounds label head Devin Horwitz will help curate the musical selection. In addition to records, DJ and audio equipment will be sold at Lucky.

Lucky will open next to another Wynwood first created by Vogtland and Drummond: a sort of hipster convenience store that will sell all the usual bodega fare with a bit of a Wynwood twist. Addresses for the two new concepts have yet to be announced, but you can already follow Lucky on Instagram to stay updated at: @LuckyRecordsMiami.
