Time Out’s Ultimate Backyard Party was a blast!

This fall, Miamians looking for a quick, weeknight escape headed north to Fort Lauderdale for a taste of the coastal city at neighborhood bar America’s Backyard. Also part of the journey? Return trips to the bar, as South Florida’s Bangin’ Banjo Brewing poured unlimited craft beers all night.

In between sips, hundreds of hungry attendees noshed on Pirate’s Booty, mini yardbird sandwiches from Spring Chicken, hearty southern fare courtesy of Betty’s Soulfood (those ribs!) and meat and veggie options from B.C. Tacos—who knew fried avocado made for a tasty taco filling? Wynwood Parlor’s handmade ice-cream sandwiches in Classic (vanilla ice cream between chocolate chip cookies) and Sorberry (strawberry ice cream between white-chocolate chip cookies) provided the perfect sweet ending.

You’d think after all that eating and drinking it’d be tough to get people dancing, but not when you have The Stiltsville and Magic City Hippies jamming out. The two local bands played live and had everyone on their feet (some more graceful than others). Other highlights included a super fun photo booth by JetBlue Card and a temporary tattoo station by Tattly—nursing a hangover is infinitely better when you have the previous night’s “ink” to laugh about.
