Finally, we know who’s taking residence at Miami Worldcenter when it opens next year. The $4 billion, 27-acre mixed-use development just announced its first culinary tenants and it includes one of Chicago’s top modern steakhouses, Maple & Ash. Two-time Michelin starred chef Danny Grant helms the menu at the glitzy restaurant, which takes over a sizable portion of World Square, located at the intersection of Northwest 7th Street and Northeast First Avenue. The same creative team will also be bringing etta to Miami. It’ll mirror the open-kitchen design of its two other Chicago locations, including a wood-burning brick oven and a giant wood-fired hearth for spit roasting and grilling signature dishes like family-style pork and crispy pizza.

Miami’s Michael Beltran is another inaugural tenant, who’s bringing two fresh dining concepts to Miami Worldcenter. At Laurel, the chef blends his Cuban heritage with French brasserie-style cooking similar to the cuisine he pioneered at Ariete, his restaurant in Coconut Grove. It’ll be an indoor/outdoor space located on the ground floor of Caoba, the development’s apartment tower. Next to it will be El Vecino, a high-end cigar bar serving up craft cocktails, light bites and pastelitos by Miami’s own Pastelito Papi.

The four restaurants will collectively occupy less than an acre of the 27-acre property, which will include retail, entertainment, residential and commercial spaces. In other words: there’s a lot more to come from Miami Worldcenter.
