The last time you were sipping on a cocktail over at the Broken Shaker, did you find yourself thinking: Hmmm, Miami could use another trendy hostel that serves great cocktails and caters to both locals and tourists. Well, good news! Your very specific wish has been granted.

Just a half mile north of Miami’s lauded Freehand hostel (home to Broken Shaker and 27), you’ll find Generator Miami, a new hostel that opened its doors to all thirsty, hungry and restless Miamians on September 21. Generator Miami is the first U.S. property from the Generator brand, which has hostels in culture capitals such as London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris and Rome. A bed—there are 300 of them on the property—runs as low as $20 per night.

But perhaps more enticing to the local crowd will be Generator’s food and beverage programming, which will be run by Broken Shaker alum Gui Jaroschy. Generator houses three separate food and drink venues. Expect cocktails and Florida-inspired food. By the pool, local kombucha and fermented-in-Florida wine are served alongside other refreshing options. The photos of Generator show a clean, casual look with plenty of plush furniture (there’s a pillow room!) and space to lounge around. And the jelly bean pool looks like quite a cozy place to float around on a Sunday afternoon.
