Jugofresh is closing all locations

It’s been a brutal couple weeks for the Miami food scene. First, Philly sister concepts Federal Donuts and Dizengoff announced they were closing up due to Wynwood construction. Yesterday we learned Proof was on its way out and the Roberta’s Pizza pop-up will end its six-month run next week. And today Jugofresh, Miami’s most popular juice chain, announced that it was closing all locations and ending operations entirely.

Our stomachs aren’t growling, they’re crying.

In a candid letter, founder Matthew Sherman took accountability for his businesses troubles and thanked those who supported Jugofresh since its founding in Sunset Harbour back in 2012. “My lack of experience and the rapid expansion are what ultimately lead us to close,” Sherman wrote.

Jugofresh’s departure leaves a pretty big gap in Miami’s health food market. And it’ll be interesting to see what comes of the chain’s hot Wynwood property, located inside the Wynwood Walls. But, right now, we’re pouring out some juice for our fallen health homies.
