For nearly seven decades, the Knaus Family has been operating Knaus Berry Farm, the South Florida favorite beloved for its fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, fruit milkshakes, fresh strawberries and more. Back in 2017, those farm-fresh wares got some much-deserved national recognition when Knaus Berry Farm was inducted into the National Culinary Heritage Register, an initiative designed to explore and preserve the complex history of food and beverage in America. As it has since 1956, "Knaus Berry Farm season" will again kick off this fall, but this time under the tutelage of new owners at a brand-new address—and, yes, those cinnamon rolls are coming, too.

Moving from its old Homestead location (15980 SW 248th Street) to new digs just a few miles away at 16790 SW 177th Avenue in Miami, the new Knaus Berry Farm will have more space for farming, baking, parking and the like, which should graciously mean less lines.
“One rub about Knaus Berry Farm has been the long lines and long wait for cinnamon rolls," said Joel White, one of the new co-owners. (The Knaus family will act as consultants on Knaus Berry 2.0, along with longtime General Manager Thomas Blocher as Kitchen Consultant to ensure the quality and consistency of the bakery output.) "We are adding a new oven and hope this increased capacity might speed up the lines, but time will tell on that.”
And don't worry, nothing is changing about those famous cinnamon rolls. “We are looking forward to carrying on the tradition the Knaus family has built with fresh handmade cinnamon buns, milkshakes, and produce. We will be using the same recipes, bakery equipment, and techniques," White added. "Even the water will have the same pH to ensure the product is delivered to our customers just as they know and love."
Fresh produce will also still be on offer, including green beans, green and yellow squash, okra, pickling cucumbers, grape and round tomatoes, strawberries, and watermelon. The KBF team plans to offer U-Pick strawberries in the near future.
The new farm will continue to operate seasonally, with a debut date expected for late fall—keep an eye out on the Knaus Berry Farm Instagram handle for the most up-to-date info there. However, for the first time in the farm's history, it will open on Sundays. It will also soon start accepting credit cards, especially convenient when you want to really load up on those sticky rolls. (Guilty!)
