Residents, get your local passes ASAP. Everyone else, check the list of closures so you don’t get stuck.

The 2026 World Cup matches in Miami are less than two weeks away, and the City of Miami Gardens is gearing up for an influx of thousands of international soccer fans. To manage the massive crowds and keep traffic moving smoothly, officials have rolled out a comprehensive advisory detailing temporary road closures, restricted “Clean Zones” and resident access passes.

From June 15 to July 18, Miami Gardens will host seven marquee matchups. The first key to navigating the area successfully is keeping the match-day schedule handy so you know when road closures will take effect:
Monday, June 15–6pm
Sunday, June 21–6pm
Wednesday, June 24–6pm
Saturday, June 27–7:30pm
Friday, July 3–6pm
Saturday, July 11–5pm
Saturday, July 18–5pm
Pre-event road closures will go into effect at 5am on match days and wrap up once stadium parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff. Post-event closures will begin 1.5 hours after kickoff and last for roughly two hours.
Commuters should prepare for disruptions on major arteries surrounding the stadium. Specific pre- and post-event closures include:
Northbound and Southbound Exit 2X on Florida’s Turnpike
Intersection of NW 14th Ct. & NW 199th St.
Intersection of NW 27th Ave. & NW 199th St.
The Golden Glades Interchange (post-event only)
Additionally, the city is establishing highly secure "Clean Zones" to keep public rights-of-way and sidewalks clear for pedestrian safety. This restricted zone is bounded by County Line Road (NW 215th St.) to the north, NW 183rd St. to the south, NW 12th Ave. to the east and NW 32nd Ave. to the west.
To minimize the headache for locals, residents and business owners can bypass most of these checkpoints using a Local Access Pass (note: Turnpike 2X ramps remain strictly closed to all traffic). Passes can be picked up with a valid ID showing proof of residency at Miami Gardens City Hall (Mon–Thu, 7am–7pm) or the Miami Gardens Police Department.
For ticket holders looking to skip the gridlock entirely, Miami-Dade County is running the free Miami Game Day Express shuttle. Verified match ticket holders can catch a first-come, first-served ride directly to the stadium from four hubs: MLK Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station, Golden Glades Multimodal Transit Station, Aventura Brightline Station and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
