Get ready Miami pizza aficionados: in just a few weeks, you'll be able to chew on an authentic New York slice while staying close to home.
On December 11, iconic New York City pizzeria Prince St. Pizza will officially open its first brick-and-mortar location in Miami Beach, at 521 Lincoln Road, serving up the same cult-favorite pies that made it famous on the coast.
Prince St. Pizza, slinging slices in New York’s SoHo since 2012, has long been celebrated for its Neapolitan pies and oversized Sicilian squares. Back in 2021, the eatery hosted a successful pop-up in Wynwood but, now, we'll be able to get our hands on all those slices any day of the week.
"We are thrilled to open the doors of our first Miami brick-and-mortar location this December and to bring back our delicious slices to the South Florida community," said Lawrence Longo, CEO of Prince St. Pizza, in an official statement. He added that his hope is for every bite from the Lincoln Road outpost to "deliver pure happiness," just like at the New York location.
The menu follows the formula of the beloved original: hand-crafted dough made from scratch with premium ingredients, plus water that's filtered to replicate New York's. The new location will serve the legendary Sicilian SoHo squares and original Neapolitan pizzas by the slice or as full pies. Featured options include crowd-pleasers like the spicy spring (Fra Diavolo sauce, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella and pecorino Romano), the naughty pie (spicy vodka sauce, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, ricotta and Zab’s hot honey) and the vegan (sweet marinara, vegan cheese, basil and extra virgin olive oil).
Prince St. will also be selling its own house made sauces on site, including its famous Fra Diavolo spicy marinara, spicy vodka and classic house marinara.
The interior of the new shop includes a Miami-themed mural painted by local artist Bari-Lynn Friedlander, blending pizzas and palm trees into an abstract, expressive design. There will also be exclusive Prince St. merch designed by Miami’s own Sigal Cohen Wolkowiez.
Here's the news that pizza lovers need to hear: to celebrate the grand opening, the first 25 customers through the door on December 11 at noon will receive a $25 gift card, and anyone who signs up for the loyalty program will be entered to win free pizza for a year. Mark your calendars and set your alarms.
