Fri 10

Rituals at Aventura Mall

The luxury bath and beauty brand from Amsterdam makes its official Miami debut this weekend. Check out its new shop-in-shop location inside Macy’s at the Aventura Mall (its first in Florida) and you’ll be rewarded with all sorts of freebies on opening day, including a deluxe goodie bag for in-the-know shoppers (you!).

Wine and Clean at the Wynwood Yard

Charcoal and HaloVino give you a reason to pick up trash in Wynwood: free wine. Meet at the Wynwood Yard for snacks and a reusable tumbler from HaloVino filled with wine. After that, you’ll stroll the neighborhood collecting trash and make a final stop at Mason Eatery for another splash of vino before heading home with your free tumbler (and the general good feeling of doing something for your community).

Sat 11

Venezuelan Food Wine & Spirits Festival

Asado negro, pabellon criollo, arepas as far as the eyes can see—Venezolanos, are your stomachs rumbling? The Venezuelan culinary fest descends on Doral, which means an evening of drinks, dancing and of course, all the delicious Latin American cuisine you can handle. 10395 NW 41 St, Suite 101, Doral.

Free Family Fun Day at HistoryMiami

What to do with the kids when it’s one zillion degrees out? Take them to HistoryMiami for a full day of freebies before school starts—from tours and workshops to activities. At 2pm, museum educators give a complimentary tour of the institution’s core exhibition, “Tropical Dreams: A People’s History of South Florida.”

Miami Film Festival Presents: Grown

See the first episode of the Grown, the new buzzy show—and Complex Networks’ first scripted series—created by local talents Joshua Jean-Baptiste, Edson Jean and Maria Corina Ramirez. Stick around after the screening for a panel discussion with the members of the show’s cast and crew moderated by Tanya Bravo, executive director of Miami’s Juggerknot Theatre Company.

Sun 12

World Elephant Day Yoga

If you ever needed a reason to rise early and exercise on a Sunday morning, it’s this one: World Elephant Day. The Miami Beach Botanical Garden hosts a donation-based yoga class to raise funds for these remarkable animals. Proceeds from the tickets sold benefit the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos, plus each person who purchases one is entered to win prizes like artisanal candles and unlimited yoga classes.
