Fri 19

Noises Off

Nine actors, seven of whom double as characters in a play within the play, put their best comic timing to the test in Michael Frayn’s uproarious, demanding 1982 farce. Considered the high-water mark of the modern farce, Noises Off features slamming doors, dropped trousers and the inspired deployment of sardines.

Sat 20

My Barbarian: Bride of the White Widow

For the unconventional theatergoer, this multimedia experience weaves a post-colonial tale with contemporary issues to create a play-within-a-play. While telling the story of 17th-century Dutch sailors aboard the doomed White Widow, the play also explores issues of cultural appropriation, globalism and environmental collapse through song, dance and games with the audience.

Daybreaker at W Miami

Think twice before sleeping in this Saturday or you’ll miss this epic rooftop disco party. You’ll rise for a 10am outdoor yoga session and get all sweaty before hitting the dance floor in full ’70s regalia—afros, platforms and bell bottoms encouraged. All guests are welcomed to use the pool for a post-workout soak.

Sankalpa Workshop at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Get help setting your intentions for 2018 while you meditate, bend and nourish your way to clearer thinking. Local wellness gurus lead workshops in yoga and building a vision board, as well as provide life coaching and a brief card reading session. Afterward, reward yourself for all that hard work with an afternoon at the spa.

Sun 21

The Miami Flea

The first Miami Flea of 2018 promises an afternoon of outdoor shopping, drinking and eating, courtesy of dozens of local vendors and restaurants. Not in the mood to shop? Just go for the live music and vibes, provided this weekend by local talents Brendan O’Hara, Rachel Ohnsman and Scone Cash Players. Kiddos will enjoy the creative corner for crafts and face painting.

Presidential Symposium

Participate in engaging political conversations and listen to accomplished historical scholars during the ninth annual presidential symposium. This year’s theme covers lessons in leadership as observed in both Lincoln’s and Roosevelt’s presidencies. The two hour program includes a brief reception.
