Fri 22

TASCHEN Book Sale

Stock up on discounted coffee table books from the publisher who made these hefty, glossy, page turners a thing. Browse the stylish stacks for bargains on luxury, oversized editions of tomes showcasing the works of Salvador Dalí, Peter Lindbergh and others—all marked up to 75 percent off.

I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard

This two-character play takes place during a drug-fueled evening as a competitive young actress contends with her equally pugnacious playwright father. They project insults, bruise egos and skewer the theater establishment in a scabrous dramedy penned by Halley Feiffer, daughter of celebrated cartoonist Jules Feiffer.

Sat 23

Coconut Grove Street Scene Concert

The season of free fun and outdoor events in Coconut Grove continues as Fuller Street shuts down for an all-out block party on Saturday night. Stop by for an art showcase, drink specials from neighboring bars and live music by Dreamers with special guests Alex Di Leo and Bonn E Maiy. There will be free shuttle service to nearby parking garages from the party as well as free bike valet at the event.

Creative Arts 4 Kids Butterfly House

Ducking into MOCA is a great way to escape the sweltering heat, but your kids might not be up for browsing contemporary art all afternoon. Plan ahead for this fun workshop, where little ones learn to make a butterfly house as a way of understanding themes of individuality and inheritance displayed in the museum’s current exhibition, “Monarch.”

Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour

Get your girls—it’s ladies’ night. The all-female comic lineup includes Adele Givens, Loni Love, Sherri Shepherd and Nene Leakes of Real Housewife fame and beyond. The long-running BET tour is one R&B fans do not want to miss.

Putt and Grub at Caribbean Marketplace

This Saturday, the Little Haiti Caribbean Marketplace throws its very first Putt & Grub party, an afternoon of food, live music and unlimited free mini-golf. The Caribbean Marketplace is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon on a normal week, but this edition is really not to be missed. In addition to the aforementioned live music (which comes courtesy of Alexis Santilesses and Aroze Troubadou) a free Kompa workshop teaches attendees the basics of the Haitian dance and did we mention mini-golf? Free, unlimited mini-golf? You know where to find us this weekend. 5920 NE Second Ave

Sunset Sessions ft. Flor de Toloache

Live music and the kind of sunset view you only find on Instagram is the 1 Hotel’s Sunset Session in a nutshell. This week, Flor de Toloache—the fabulous, all-female mariachi group from Brooklyn—takes over the hotel’s swanky penthouse for an intimate performance. RSVP for access and free cocktails during the show.

Sun 24

The Miami Flea

The Miami Flea is a monthly showcase of South Florida’s coolest vendors. Most everything you’ll find—clothes, jewelry, food and more—is local. Not in the mood to shop? Just go for the live music and vibes, especially if it’s a gorgeous day. This month’s edition of the flea celebrates the summer solstice and features performances by Brothers of Others, Rio A Luna and Oigo.
