Fri 14

Goodbye, Umbrellas!

Colorful public art exhibit the Umbrella Sky Project leaves us this weekend, sadly. The last day you have to see it is on Sunday, September 16. If you’ve yet to snap the Portuguese art installation for your Instagram feed, here’s your shot. A professional photographer will be lending a hand to visitors all weekend.

Nick Cannon’s Wild ’N Out Live

Nick Cannon brings his hip-hop variety show to Miami. Catch live performances, stand-up comedy, improv and more from the likes of DC Young Fly, IamZoie, Emmanuel Hudson and Justina Valentine, plus musical guest Yo Gotti!

Classic Albums Life: Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy

Seminal rock band Led Zeppelin made many albums but this one deserves a closer listen. Watch a group of talented performers perform the complex, nuanced tunes off Houses of the Holy, including the reggae-style “D’yer Mak’er” and the Robert Plant-penned oeuvre to fans, “The Ocean.”

Sat 15

Carlos Vives

Colombian singer Carlos Vives brings his singular vallenato stylings to Downtown. Catch the Grammy-winning performer, who’s dueted with the likes of Shakira and Marc Anthony, take the stage to sing hits like “Volví a Nacer” and “Bailar Contigo.”

Craft Beer 5K Run

If you’re into running, philanthropy and drinking beer, this might be the weekend activity for you. This second-annual 5k raises funds for organizations Nico’s Promise and Sebastian Strong and brings together breweries from across county lines—from Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co. and Funky Buddha Brewery to Biscayne Bay Brewing—for a fun, post-race festival featuring brews, bites and live music. Participants receive a T-shirt, a medal and a complimentary beer.

Sun 16

Pups & Pints

Has your dog had a rough day? Could Fido use a beer as bad as you? Then bring your furry BFF to Concrete Beach for Pups & Pints, a special Sunday brunch that takes place every third week of the month. Proceeds from the day’s brews and bites will benefit Paws 4 You, plus Expedition Paws will be on site offering free obedience and trick classes for all in attendance—that means you, humans.
