If you are a fan of Miami’s Ghee Indian Kitchen (and how dare you if you’re not) then you’ll probably be giddy to hear that chef Niven Patel is currently working on a new restaurant to add to his two Ghee locations.

The new concept will be called Ebra and it’ll focus on Italian food with fresh pasta and dishes made in a wood-burning oven. The new place will open in Downtown Dadeland (8865 SW 72nd Place), a short walk from the original Ghee location, which earned Chef Patel a James Beard nomination and heaps of praise from eaters around South Florida.

Like everything Patel does, fresh and local ingredients will be the backbone of Ebra, with plenty of seasonal produce from the farm Patel manages down in Homestead. Ebra is still in its fetal stage, so a firm opening date has yet to be set. Doors should open sometime in 2019, though, giving you yet another very delicious reason to make the long drive over to Kendall.
