Is there anything more Florida than getting around in golf carts? Just in time for Art Basel and the holidays, the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) and Freebee have launched a one-year pilot shuttle program to help you get around our urban core.

Its officially called the 'Downtown Miami Transit Circulator' and this free, all-electric shuttle service will run on a fixed-loop around Downtown passing venues like the Kaseya Center, Miami Worldcenter, the Miami-Dade Government Center and the Brightline MiamiCentral station. It will also stop at different Metromover stations, which is great because our entire metro system is free through the end of 2023. Take advantage, people! It may be a one-year pilot, but we'll actually need to use it for the program to hit its one-year mark.

Freebee's shuttles with Miami DDA branding will circle the route continuously and passengers can hail a vehicle anywhere along the route, book a ride via the Ride Freebee mobile app, or hop on when the vehicle is stopped at a red light or stop sign. It's a safe way to get around Downtown, especially on the Friday and Saturday nights, where the service runs until 11:30pm (9pm on Sundays), and after big games, festivals and concerts.

Art Basel is the perfect time to give the Freebee program a try, as it can shuttle you for free between all of the fairs, museums, exhibits and events taking place in Downtown Miami and Arts & Entertainment District ten, from Art Miami and Nada to other more off the beaten path events like the Miami River Art Fair.
