It’s no secret that the hospitality industry has been the hardest hit during the Covid-19 pandemic. And as many takeout and delivery meals as we commit ourselves to ordering, that’s simply not enough to save South Florida’s restaurant community.

There’s more to be done. Felix Bendersky of F+B Hospitality Brokerage is leading the charge with a Miami Restaurant Relief Fund on gofundme.com. The goal is to raise money to put toward $250 grants for folks affected by the crisis—from bussers to servers to hosts whose hours have been cut, who’ve lost their jobs or are no longer able to make a living wage. As long as money is being donated, the fund will remain open to provide as many grants as possible.

Looking to apply for a grant? Fill out this form online and someone will get back to me. You must have been employed at a Miami-Dade County restaurant or bar for at least three months to qualify. You’ll need to submit your last two pay stubs as well.

If you’re interested in donating, simply visit this link to send some virtual cash. Every dollar counts. A number of Miami influencers, such as Miami Food Porn and Chat Chow, are doing their part with an Instagram challenge to encourage people to donate. As each one donates to the fund, they’ll be tagging friends to participate. You follow their leads when it comes to eating in Miami, why not do the same for donating?
