This new Wynwood bar lets you trade your old stuff for sweet drink deals

The blend of shopping/drinking seems to be trending in Miami now. Downtown just got Thrift Shop, a space with thrifting in the front and drinking in the back. Now, Wynwood is getting in on things with Barter (55 NW 27th Terrace), which celebrates its grand opening this Friday, December 21.

Barter is an interesting mix of consignment and bar. You’ll be able to buy certain items that catch your eye and you can trade your own personal items in too—but the transactions have a twist. Each trade-in deal at Barter will be different. Got an old record player collecting dust in your apartment? Bring it in—maybe the Barter team will look at it and say: this is worth three months of BOGO drinks. That creepy old painting grandma gave to you? It could be a $200 bar tab. Every deal will be created on the spot, unique for each customer and item. It’s sort of like a boozy Antiques Roadshow (if you’re listening, Hollywood, please make that happen).

Doors open this Friday at 5pm. On Saturday, the bar is hosting a special “trade show” from 5 to 10pm, where you can see just how many drinks your clutter can get you. After this weekend, the bar will be open Wednesday through Thursday from 5pm to 1am, Friday through Saturday from 5pm to 3am and Sunday from 5pm to 1am.
