Your new watering hole is a posh, Asian-fusion restaurant tucked inside a luxe shopping mall. Not exactly the place you envisioned for your next happy hour outing? All it takes to change your mind is one look at the massive, wrap-around bar and imaginative cocktail menu, helmed by Traditional Cocktail Company’s Thomas Merolla and packed with all sorts of interesting mixtures. The Merrick’s Way, a Far East-twist on a pisco sour with yuzu and shiso, is light and refreshing. Asian and Peruvian flavors comingle further in the starter selection, featuring vaca frita buns filled with shredded beef, sriracha, pickled cucumbers and charred scallions, and charred bok choy soup.
