From the heaping portions of southern food to service that's warm and inviting, everything about this family-owned spot is just what you would expect from an authentic soul-food restaurant. You'll typically find Betty, the owner, whipping up meals herself, which is partly the reason why the space feels so homey. Another bonus? They always have Kool-Aid on the menu.

My husband & I went to Betty's Soul Food Restaurant Yesterday and was very disappointed. the food was cold , we had to ask for the food to be warmed up only to receive the food back cold. 8 out of 10 of customers sent their food back to be heated up. The portions on the sides was very small , the food overall was good , Not Delicious as we've been told , I would definitely say Betty's Restaurant is overrated. The red velvet cake was so dry , The Best thing on the menu was the koolaide. We will never visit Betty's again.

Unfortunately this place is way overrated. Not sure if the staff write their own reviews or pay someone else to write them. First off, the place is in desperate need of a makeover. It also needs to be cleaned with lots of bleach. My daughter even saw mold in the kitchen as we were leaving. The staff all had bad attitudes and acted like they didn't want to be there.

The service gets a 1 because we put in 5 orders and only received 1. After 40 minutes the waitress said are you missing something?. I told her we're missing a lot. She said ok. 15 or 20 minutes later she slid a cold waffle and baby chicken wings on the table. The wings were really small, no seasoning, and super dry. They were straight disgusting. The Betty burger was dry and cold also. You get only one napkins and don't ask for another if you don't want attitude. The lemonade was like syrup with cheap condensed lemon juice.

Bottom line, we dumped a lot of the food because it was just nasty. The best tip I can give anyone is to avoid this place like you would the plague. It's nasty with bad service to the tenth power!
