Time Out says

Francesco Martucci is a famous Italian pizzaiolo who’s racked up numerous “world’s best” accolades for his light-as-air Neapolitan pies and signature “pizza a due temperature,” made with dough that’s fried before being baked in the wood-fired oven. Outside of his Caserta restaurant, I Masanielli (named one of Food & Wine’s Top 20 Restaurants of 2025), Francesco Martucci Miami is the pizza chef’s only other outpost anywhere. It’s landed in Wynwood, a neighborhood already fairly crowded with great pizza options—and while we’re not sure it fully lives up to the massive hype, Martucci makes for a solid stop on any Miami pizza tour.

The vibe: Clad in dark wood and leather with dim lighting, soaring ceilings and a Vespa motorbike strung up overhead, the dining room is sleek and masculine without coming off as too serious. It’s great for a date night that feels more elevated than your usual mid-week pizza, or for a festive and unfussy group outing. We were warmly received and in good company dining with our toddler on a recent rainy Friday evening.

The food: We started with the Insalata di Funghi Assoluti, a colorful heap of fried and marinated organic local mushrooms, mizuna micro herbs, watercress and nasturtium herbs. The Tortelli Cacio e Pepe was a nice counterbalance to that tangy and textural opener, smooth and rich with pecorino Romano DOP, white chocolate and cracked black pepper filling, layered with a 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano cream sauce.

From the two-temperature pizzas, keep it simple and order the DOC. The crust defies logic, a sturdy yet delicate vehicle for San Marzano tomato DOP, fior di latte, 36-month Parmigiano and cherry tomato confit. The classic Neapolitan pies come in deliciously creative combinations, such as the Mani di Velluto made with friarielli cream with buffalo milk, hand-cut pork sausage with fennel, aged pecorino Romano DOP and extra-virgin olive oil. We’d gladly re-order either of these pizzas.

The drink: Cocktails are slung from a large and handsome bar that’d make a fun spot for catching up with a friend over a pizza and negronis. Starting at $20, they’re not cheap, but these drinks are potent and refined, as in the Papaya Tomato White Negroni that's perfectly balanced with acidified tomato water.

Time Out tip: If you order a bottle of wine, prepare for it to be fetched by one of Martucci’s dedicated “wine angels,” professional aerialists whose sole responsibility is to scale the massive glass-encased wine cellar and deliver your selection with an excess of flair we imagine only Miami could achieve.
