French fries are the star of the menu at this Cuban restaurant, which serves America’s favorite side dish in heaping piles. Rio Cristal’s signature, however, is the palomilla steak with papitas, a think, butterflied sirloin that’s pan-fried and then literally covered in so many french fries you can’t even tell there’s meat underneath. You won’t finish it all, but the same can be said for Rio Cristal’s massive pan con bistec sandwiches (breaded steak that’s fried and served between two slices of toasted Cuban bread) and other super-size entrées.
