When Walter Bergamo and his wife Jo founded the Perrine diner in the late ’70s, Miami wasn’t the developed metropolis it is today. More than four decades later, the slice of Americana between Miami and Homestead continues to draw significant crowds in search of great service (Walter coined the restaurant as the place “where the elite meet to eat,” which meant everyone) and an above-average assortment of classic breakfast foods and casual dinner fare.
