For two afternoons, the beach turns into open airspace, with everything from classic kites to sky-sized whales, octopuses, astronauts, and parafoils stretching hundreds of feet overhead. No need to rush to Target to buy a kite; if you don't have your own, you can buy one on-site or just claim a spot in the sand and watch the chaos unfold.
