“Joined at the Roots” Closing Reception

Miami-based designer Ruth Louissaint presents "Joined at the Roots," a fashion show at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex co-curated with art gallery MUCE (My Urban Contemporary Experience), which also celebrates the closing of its exhibition of the same name. Taking place on Saturday, August 23rd from 6 to 9:30pm, the event honors the shared legacies of African American and Haitian American women, bringing Louissaint’s 35 years of custom womenswear to the runway alongside the gallery show's vibrant works. Community figures like Sandra Justice, Tico Armand and Angelique François will be modeling designs, which aim to create a visual dialogue in the heart of Little Haiti.
