MDC Live Arts and Miami Light Project present Zimbabwe-born, Brooklyn-based Nora Chipaumire’s provocative dance presentation, exploring African-American masculinity and her own struggles with paternity. Tethered together in a boxing ring, she and Senegalese dancer Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye (known as Kaolak) dance, struggle and fight against the weight of traditions and history while Miami Dade College alum Shamar Watt cheers and coaches from the corner. Matt Baiamonte, protégé of Mohammed Ali’s legendary trainer, Angelo Dundee, hosts the unique performance.
