North America’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, has named one Canadian restaurant as the recipient of the 2026 Art of Hospitality Award—an honour that celebrates excellence in service and the overall dining experience.

The distinction shines a spotlight on the often-unseen magic of front-of-house teams, where warmth, precision, and genuine care transform a meal into something memorable.

It marks the second award revealed ahead of this year’s ceremony, set to take place in New Orleans in partnership with New Orleans & Company.

What is the number one rated restaurant in Canada?

At the helm of Restaurant Pearl Morissette, chef-owners Daniel Hadida and Eric Robertson have built a destination defined as much by its philosophy as its food.

Located in Lincoln, Ontario, in the heart of Niagara wine country, Restaurant Pearl Morissette sits above the estate winery, with sweeping views of its regenerative farm, orchards, and gardens—a landscape that quite literally shapes the menu.

The experience unfolds as a carte blanche tasting, where guests surrender to the rhythm of the seasons and the vision of the kitchen. Ingredients are sourced from the estate and surrounding region, resulting in dishes that feel both deeply local and quietly inventive—think grilled West Coast geoduck with pickled spruce tips or celeriac tart layered with sturgeon caviar.

For those seeking something even more intimate, a one-table-per-night chef’s table offers an extended, highly personal experience guided directly by the team.

Wine, naturally, plays a central role, with a program rooted in the estate’s own cuvées and back vintages.

But it’s the thoughtful non-alcoholic pairings—garden-driven infusions of fruit, herbs, and botanicals—that have also earned acclaim, offering a parallel expression of the land in the glass.

According to the 50 Best organization, what sets Pearl Morissette apart is the seamless interplay between creativity, sustainability, and hospitality—where every detail feels considered and every guest experience feels personal.

For Hadida, the recognition reflects a collective effort: a philosophy of hospitality grounded not in standards, but in a genuine commitment to people and place.

Guided by regenerative practices and close relationships with regional producers, the restaurant’s ever-evolving menu mirrors the landscape that surrounds it—an approach that continues to define its place at the forefront of Canadian dining.

Following its No. 3 ranking and title of Best Restaurant in Central Canada in 2025, this latest honour further cements its standing as one of the country’s most compelling culinary destinations.

The Art of Hospitality Award is one of several distinctions announced ahead of the 2026 ceremony on May 28 in New Orleans, which will bring together chefs and industry leaders for a multi-day celebration.

Last year, Quebec's Tanière3 won this prestigious award.
