Wondering how to celebrate Canada Day 2025 in Montreal now that the parade has been officially cancelled for the second year in a row?
On July 1st, Montrealers are coming together to celebrate Canada Day in the Old Port of Montreal.
Get ready for the first-ever Canada On The Move walk through the streets of Old Montreal!
Gather at 11:30 a.m. at Place d’Armes, where the opening festivities kick off at noon.
While it’s not a parade, the walk officially starts at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 1 p.m. at the Quai de l'Horloge, just in time for the Canada Day ceremonial 21-gun salutes in the Old Port, and the swearing-in ceremony of new Canadians.
Don’t forget to grab a small Canadian flag!
The Urban Science Brass Band, a unique hip-hop group that blends the infectious groove of New Orleans brass with the energy of rap, will play music along the route.
Once you arrive in the Old Port, expect food trucks, children’s activities, percussion performances by Samajam, an adrenaline zone for skateboarding and scootering, creative workshops, and much more—free mini cupcakes included!
