What makes Le Naufrageur so special?

Le Naufrageur has embraced a terroir-driven philosophy, best showcased in its Forest Series, where local plants like tansy, sweet gale, and Labrador tea add unique complexity alongside traditional hops.

Beyond brewing, the microbrewery is a cultural hub in the Baie-des-Chaleurs, hosting concerts, PubQuizzes, improv, dance nights, and community events year-round. In 2015, it merged with La Mie Véritable, expanding operations and launching a line of precooked and frozen breads now distributed across the region and major cities—a true taste of Gaspé, in every sip and slice.

What beers will be available at the Market?

The following four Le Naufrageur beers will be available at Time Out Market Montréal this month:

Calico
New England IPA

Crafted in the oat-forward East Coast style, it blends water, barley, wheat, oats, hops, and yeast to create a hazy, pale straw-coloured pour. The aroma is vegetal with bright hints of guava, while the palate delivers an exuberant mix of American and Australian hops, bursting with tropical and citrus notes, fresh hop character, and a touch of white grapefruit, finishing dry with a pleasant bitterness. Its name pays tribute to the notorious pirate Captain Jack Rackam, who famously sailed with Anne Bonny and Mary Read, two of history’s most celebrated female pirates.

Strawberry Fields
Berliner Weisse with strawberries

Inspired by the inventive spirit of a bygone musical era, this beer combines a crisp Berliner Weisse base with the bright, tangy punch of fresh Quebec strawberries. Its delicate rosé hue, reminiscent of orange wine, gives way to aromas of tartness intertwined with caramelized strawberry notes. On the palate, it bursts with the essence of ripe strawberries and a hint of rhubarb, finishing with a refreshing, lingering acidity.

Tanaisie
Double Wheat

This Belgian-style beer showcases the unique flavours of local Gaspé ingredients. Poured as a hazy blonde, it offers a complex aroma with notes of tansy, chamomile, cinnamon, and a hint of soap. On the palate, flavours of chamomile, forest herbs, cinnamon, and candied citrus are balanced by gentle bitterness. Subtle touches of maple syrup add sweet, woody aromas, while the tansy contributes a slightly lemony, camphorated character, creating a truly distinctive tasting experience.

Gose-Sur-Mer
Sour

The Gose is a German-inspired salty beer. This version is brewed with seawater from the Baie des Chaleurs, giving it its unique flavour. It pays tribute to the fishermen who, at the first light of dawn, launch their boats for a day at sea under the watchful eyes of the seagulls.
