When is the summer solstice?

10:24 p.m. on June 21, 2026, marks the summer solstice—the official start of astronomical summer and the longest day of the year.

According to MétéoMédia, the sun appears to be taking the entire Father’s Day weekend off. Friday is expected to be a soggy day across most of Quebec, with showers, the risk of thunderstorms and little to no sunshine.

Saturday is expected to look a lot like Friday, with showers continuing and temperatures staying below seasonal norms.

Highs are expected to reach only 19°C to 20°C in southern Quebec.

Sunday will be the longest day of the year, with grey skies expected to remain the dominant feature of the Father’s Day forecast.

Showers should be more scattered and less intense than on Friday and Saturday.
