One of Montreal's grooviest summer events is back, just in time for all the sun and heat the city's been experiencing lately: Piknic Électronik, the outdoor electronic music series, announced this week that events on Saturdays and Sundays are back on this month.

There's one big difference this time: It's a seated show, and tickets need to be purchased in pairs. There are three stages—the Piknic Stage, the Videotron Stage and the Museum Stage—and each has two zones to stay in.

You may need to 'stay still', but you'll be allowed to dance and there will be drinks available on site.

$20 tickets can nab you admission to one of two sessions that happen on Saturday and Sunday, and each session lasts three hours.

Events for August and September have not been announced yet, but will be announced on Facebook later on.

Here is when Piknic Électronik is happening in July:

Piknic Électronik MTL #1 | July 3 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #2 | July 4 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #3 | July 10 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #4 | July 11 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #5 | July 17 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #6 | July 18 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm
Piknic Électronik MTL #7 | July 31 | 1pm to 5pm OR 6pm to 10pm

Having normally taken place every Sunday from May to September, the pandemic put a pause on the event that's been happening for over 15 years.

Never been to Piknic Électronik? It's a big deal: The event series could be found in Barcelona, Melbourne and Dubai, as well as Santiago and Paris until recently. Now that it's back in action, there's no telling how far it will go in a (hopefully) post-pandemic world.
