Description
In this class students will make a head, learning the techniques Shelley has developed for her own work. Students will construct a stuffed, seamed under-structure, refine shaping and features with needle-sculpting, then cover it with a knit fabric “skin”. There will also be a discussion of further techniques which students can explore further after the class, such as face embroidery and quilted-ear application.

Beginner (Basic machine and hand sewing skills)

What will students take away?
Students will make one felted head.

Teacher provides:�
Instruction booklet to create a felted animal head. Polyfil® batting, stuffing wool, merino wool, felting needles, instruction booklet and paper clay eye forms.

Kit Fee
$35.00 kit fee

Students must bring:
Reference photos of the animal head you wish to create. Two (2) old bath-size towels, sharp scissors (small or medium), decorator chalks or pastels for facial coloring, one (1) synthetic #4 flat artist’s brush, Sakura® Pigma micron .05 pens for details (1 brown and1 black).
