Open Table Nashville, Inc. says
On Good Friday, April 14th, you are invited to journey across downtown Nashville on foot to observe and participate in the Citywide Stations of the Cross.

The Stations of the Cross originated as a way to help Jesus’ followers retrace his path to the cross. They often take the form of a spiritual pilgrimage through his suffering and crucifixion, enabling participants to contemplate and enter into the sacredness, conflict, and mystery of Good Friday.

Similarly, we’ll journey through our city on an urban pilgrimage to collectively meditate on what the stations mean for us today. As we visit places like City Hall, downtown churches, Legislative Plaza, and the State Capitol, we'll ask where Christ is still being crucified today by our policies and priorities, our actions and inactions.

As we go forward, will we choose to embrace or condemn Christ who so often comes to us in the guise of the stranger and the poor?

LOGISTICS: The best place to park is the Downtown Public Library (you can get your ticket validated inside the library and get the first 1.5 hours free). We'll begin at 4:30pm at Church Street Park. Please wear shoes comfortable for walking and bring water if you'd like. We plan to conclude around 7:30pm at the State Capitol. *Around 4pm on the 14th, we'll post the route on this event page.*
