Fond Object Backyard Double Feature: Bizzare In Three Parts W/Amer & Taxidermia! 10/11/15 says
As we start our decent into madness that is the Halloween season, we here at Fond Object are very proud to present a wild double feature of strange films that are divided into three parts. Now mind you, these are not anthology films, nay...these are films that tell one story but are seperated into three seperate sections! Now, these two pieces of cinema are not technically HORROR films per se, but they aare both delightfully twisted in their own unique way. DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH FUN YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE? Yeah, I didn't think that you did, but that is okay, we did all the heavy lifting for you!

First up, we have the beautifully twisted AMER. Bathed in vibrant colors and eye-popping cinematography, this little number is sure to make you squirm with glee. Amer is a 2009 Belgian-French thriller film written and directed by French directors Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani (Their first feature film. They later did The Strange Color Of Your Body's Tears). The film is a giallo in three parts. The plot of the film follows the sexual development of Ana who lives on the French Riviera. The film focuses on her oppressive teenage years leading to her womanhood. The film premiered in Sweden in 2009. It has received generally favorable reviews and was nominated for the Magritte Award for Best Film, and oh boy, this is one that you do not want to miss!

Next up we have the dark, quirky, and actually somewhat humorous TAXIDERMIA! Taxidermia is a 2006 Hungarian comedy-drama horror film directed by György Pálfi. The film is a metaphorical socio-political retelling of Hungary's history from the Second World War to the present day. The story is told by means of three generations of men from Hungary, beginning with a military orderly during the Second World War, moving on to an aspiring speed-eater during the Cold War, and concluding with a taxidermist during modern times. The film has elements of dark comedy and body horror. This is a film quite unlike you have ever seen before, and believe me, going into it you will not be prepared for what unfolds.

I have been wating to pair these movies together since we started showing films in the backyard, and the time is finally right to present them to you. Caution: minds will be blown! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!
