Inaugural Modular Art Pods At Abrasive Media

Time Out says

Part of the February Arts & Music @ Wedgewood/Houston, abrasiveMedia presents Modular Art Pods, an open-source collaborative art tunnel that attendees must crawl through. Learn more at www.modularartpods.com. Each artist selects a 4′ cubed section and builds it. The pod surfaces can be made out of anything. A special accessible path surrounds the perimeter of the tunnel. One might think of this as a “backlot tour.” The pods have windows looking in, cards explaining how the pods were made, and occasionally buttons that interact with the crawlers inside. For example, a person taking the backlot tour might push a button to turn the lights on or off inside a pod. People may choose to crawl through the tunnel or take the perimeter tour, but they are not allowed to do both. This is only fair to the people who are unable to crawl through. Modular Art Pods at abrasiveMedia February 7th, 6pm to 10pm, free show. Wear clothes you can crawl in.
