The spectacular face-off will include 18 different categories, ranging from the fancy Fu Manchu to the anything goes, full-beard freestyle, with competitors putting their most outstanding beards and moustaches forward in hopes of winning it all. The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip to the 2017 National Beard and Moustache Championships® in Southern California, Nov. 11 – 12, 2017.

The official beneficiary of the 2016 event is Tennessee Wildlife Federation (TWF)'s Hunters for the Hungry program. One of the largest and oldest organizations in Tennessee, TWF is dedicated to conserving the state’s wildlife and natural resources through stewardship, youth engagement and public policy. Additionally, TWF represents the varied interests of those who enjoy the great outdoors. Beard Team USA, the event organizer, will donate $1 per ticket sold or a minimum of $5,000.

“There is nothing in the world like the National Beard & Moustache Championships. Going into our seventh year, the competition will gather the utmost unique beardsmen from around the world,” said the National Beard & Moustache Championships Producer Aaron Switzer. “You have to see the craftsmanship with your own eyes.”

The National Beard & Moustache Championships have become popular amongst beard and moustache lovers and growers from around the world, gathering more than 300 competitors year after year. Competitions are hosted in the most characteristic cities throughout the United States, with previous events held in New Orleans, Louisiana, Portland, Oregon and Brooklyn, New York.
