This event is SOLD OUT!

Come join us for an evening of delicious Iranian food and Persian hospitality with chef Louisa Shafia, author of acclaimed cookbook The New Persian Kitchen. Louisa’s cooking has been featured on NPR, in Bon Appetit, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal, and she is widely considered responsible for the newfound popularity of Persian cuisine. The dinner is a fundraiser for the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, a local non-profit that supports immigrants and refugees with everything from critical needs to legal representation to civic empowerment. In light of the recent ban of refugee resettlement and immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East, we want to extend a hand of friendship to people of all faiths and all nations, and let Nashville’s immigrant community know that they are a valued part of the fabric of our city.
We will be serving a rustic menu of lamb and pumpkin stew with turmeric and lemon, saffron rice, and shallot yogurt.
The cost per person for the dinner is $25. Louisa is volunteering her time, so all proceeds raised after food costs will be going to TIRRC. If you would like to add on additional donation money to the cost of your ticket, please know that it will be going directly to this invaluable organization that has been serving the needs of refugees and immigrants in Nashville since 2001.
