The Blue Book Cabaret says
Taking place every weekend on the Lavender Line of Bourbon Street, you will find a burlesque and cabaret show truly unique yet still reminiscent of old school Bourbon Street entertainment. The Blue Book Cabaret takes it's name from the original "Blue Book" which acted as a guide to Storyville. After Storyville was shutdown in 1917, many of the jazz musicians and dancing ladies made their way down to Bourbon Street and continued to entertain on the various nightclubs lining the famous rue. In the 1960's, the district attorney vowed to clean up Bourbon Street and ordered that clubs be raided. The owners were fined, girls were arrested for selling under-the-table liquor for a cut of the profit, and musicians were fired. Burlesque in New Orleans died out for the next 40 or so years but now, it's back and better than ever! The Blue Book Cabaret pay homage to the days of old while incorporating a modern twist featuring burlesque, variety acts, burlesque, and drag.

Come and experience a little slice of New Orleans past and present!
