Neighbours getting on your nerves? Well, here’s some hot property far from the reaches of other people: an entire island has gone up for sale in the Caribbean. And better yet, the asking price is eye-wideningly affordable.
The property in question is called Iguana Island and it’s 12 miles off the coast of Bluefields in eastern Nicaragua. Surrounded by pristine bluey-green waters and outside the ‘hurricane belt’ (the bit of the Caribbean prone to tropical storms and hurricanes) it consists of five acres of land, a house and much, much more.
And it could be all yours for just $475,000 (£391,000). That’s right: for well under the average price of a house in a city like London or New York, you could get an entire island. Very cool, we know.
So what exactly is on Iguana Island? The home consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a kitchen, living room, dining room and bar. There’s a wraparound porch, as well as access to wifi, phone and TV signal. In other words, this is no derelict island outpost.
Elsewhere on the island, Iguana boasts a 28-feet-tall watchtower and its own docks and boardwalks, as well as all the lush vegetation you’d expect of a Caribbean island. Thanks to its 360-degree ocean views, it obviously makes for great swimming and snorkelling, too. Here are a few pics of the place.
