Now on the market: Annie Lennox’s sprawling villa just outside of Cannes

Sweet dreams could well be made of this... if you’ve got a spare £6 million

There’s always something a bit special about houses that have been owned by famous people. You could walk those same halls, swim in the same pools. And it’s especially enticing when those celebs are extra legendary – such as the likes of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, better known as 1980s hit-makers Eurythmics.

Lennox and Stewart bought Casa Neptune, a villa in the French Riviera, in 1988 – five years after their biggest hit ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’. They used the property for 12 years before selling it on. It’s changed hands several times since and is now up for sale again, giving one lucky buyer the chance to snap up a piece of pop music history.

Casa Neptune is 15km from Cannes, and on top of its rather starry past, it also looks pretty bloomin’ lovely. As well as gorgeous views out over the Mediterranean, the house boasts five bedrooms and five bathrooms, a huge terrace, a jacuzzi, gym, two living rooms, an outdoor kitchen and even its own dock. And despite its size, it’s also reasonably private and hidden from public view. Here are a few more pics of the place:

How much does all this cost? Well, considering the location, the history and indeed the luxury of the place, the epic £5.95 million ($7.82 million) price tag probably isn’t all that surprising. If you’re interested, you can find out more here.
