Factors such as weather stability, noise level and that all-important ‘surprise factor’ have been weighed up in a new study

You might think that finding the person you want to spend the rest of your years with is the tricky part, but finding the perfect location to ask them if they fancy doing the same? It’s a tough decision, to say the least.
And a whole lot more goes into a proposal destination than just a pretty backdrop. There’s also the weather stability, noise levels, safety, exclusivity, accessibility and that all-important surprise factor to consider.
Handily, ring specialist A Diamond Is Forever has conducted analysis into all of those factors, plus more, to curate a ranking of the world’s best proposal destinations, and the results are in.
Topping the list is the Garden of the Phoenix, a serene, Japanese-inspired spot inside Chicago’s Jackson Park. It gained a score of 81 out of 100 overall, thanks to minimal noise levels, the lack of entry fee, a good surprise factor and also kudos for being a ‘Gram-worthy backdrop.
Kauna’oa Beach in Hawaii claimed second place with a score of 78, and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Florida followed closely behind in third with 77. However, it’s not all about the US – scroll on to find out which destinations elsewhere in the world were included, too.
